Recap: Holy Cross Lancers vs. Bordentown Scotties

The Holy Cross Lancers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They came out on top against Bordentown by a score of 66-59. The win was some much needed relief for Holy Cross as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Holy Cross' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emmanuel Doku led the charge by scoring 24 points along with nine rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Doku has scored at least a third of Holy Cross' points. Joey Martino was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

Several Scotties players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Myles Hansford, who scored 14 points along with eight assists. That's the first time this season that Hansford posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Eunmin Choi, who scored nine points along with five assists and four steals.

Holy Cross' win bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Bordentown, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holy Cross will take on Westampton Tech at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Bordentown's road trip will continue as they head out to face Burlington Township at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th. Burlington Township will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
