Basketball Recap: Salisbury Extends Home Winning Streak to 21

Salisbury waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Lexington Yellowjackets 75-42. The Hornets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 33 points or more this season.

Braylon Taylor was his usual excellent self, putting up 17 points. Myles Smith was another key player, earning 13 points.

Jaylen Henderson and Kamari McDonald certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Henderson posted 14 points, while McDonald scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Aaron Holmes, who put up six points.

Salisbury's win was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.7 points per game. As for Lexington, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Salisbury will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on North Rowan at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th. As for Lexington, they are taking a road trip to challenge Thomasville at 6:30 p.m. on January 17th.
