Basketball Recap: GV Christian Falls Despite Big Games from Lucina Juneau and Samantha Charron

If GV Christian was riding high fresh off their 48-19 takedown of Awaken Christian last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The GV Christian Guardians fell 38-26 to the Lake Mead Christian Academy Eagles on Tuesday. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Guardians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 41-22 two weeks ago.

GV Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Samantha Charron, who went 5 of 6 en route to 13 points along with eight boards and three blocks, and Lucina Juneau, who posted three points and three steals. That's the most blocks Charron has posted since back in February of 2024.

It was another big night for Aliyah Harris, who earned 20 points for Lake Mead Christian Academy. That makes it four consecutive games in which Harris has scored at least a third of Lake Mead Christian Academy's points. Eris Andrews was another key player, putting up eight points.

GV Christian now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Lake Mead Christian Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-2.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing White Pine the next time they take the court. GV Christian will host White Pine at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Lake Mead Christian Academy will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
