Baseball Recap: Gorham Extends Winning Streak to Three

Seven must be Gorham's lucky number: they beat Groveton with that score not once but twice on Wednesday. The Huskies beat the Eagles by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-1. The Huskies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Isaac Langlois and Jack Saladino made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Langlois struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Meanwhile, Saladino tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Langlois has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. At bat, Langlois got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Saladino got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Mason Roberge, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

The win (which was Gorham's third in a row) raised their record to 8-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Groveton, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Gorham has already played their next match (against Profile), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Groveton, they will face off against Woodsville at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
