Soccer Recap: Montgomery's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Tuesday

On Tuesday, the Montgomery Bears were able to grind out a solid victory over the Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy Eagles, taking the game 4-2. Given the Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 190th, while the Eagles are ranked 468th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Montgomery hit Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Bianka Wemhoff, Megan Barber, Aleah Whitehead, and Burkley Burgess.

Montgomery has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those six games. Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy now has a losing record of 5-6.

Coming up, Montgomery will head out on the road to take on Dayton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
