It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Oswego East ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the Plainfield North Tigers 7-6. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Wolves as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Oswego East saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Devin Wheaton, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one double. That's the most hits Wheaton has posted over his last ten matches. Ryan Lopez also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Oswego East's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 9-14. As for Plainfield North, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-7.

Oswego East wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 7-3 loss against Lincoln-Way East on the 3rd. As for Plainfield North, they have also already played their next contest, a 17-12 win against Huntley on the 3rd.
