Recap: Wilson Tigers vs. James Island Trojans
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Wilson Tigers, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were outmatched by James Island on the road and fell 49-6. Wilson just can't catch a break and has now endured six defeats in a row.
Tristen Howard threw for 52 yards on four of 12 attempts. Bryan Boston was his top target, picking up 33 receiving yards. On the ground, Ti?Monti Emanuel rushed for 96 yards.
Amontrae Scott had a dynamite game for James Island, rushing for 138 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 carries, while also catching a touchdown. Another big playmaker for James Island was Demarcus Greene, who returned a punt for a touchdown.
Wilson's defeat was their fourth straight on the road , which bumped their record down to 3-9. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-2 Myrtle Beach and 9-3 Hartsville (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 83% over those games). As for James Island, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Wilson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. James Island will square off against Hartsville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hartsville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
