Preview: Cardinal Huskies vs. Canton Central Catholic Crusaders
Cardinal has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against The Canton Central Catholic Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Cardinal fell victim to Kirtland's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Hornets 38-0. While losing is never fun, Cardinal can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 424th, while Kirtland is ranked 66th).
Canton Central Catholic never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Aquinas last Friday. They claimed a resounding 42-6 win over the Knights on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-0.
Canton Central Catholic's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Grady Noggle, who rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries, and Dan Boron, who rushed for 63 yards and three touchdowns on only six carries.
Kirtland's win bumped their season record to 9-1 while Cardinal's loss dropped theirs to 6-4.
