Football Recap: Lake Worth Takes a Loss

Lake Worth fell victim to Dr. Joaquin Garcia and their airtight defense on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 40-0 loss at the hands of the Dr. Joaquin Garcia Bulldogs. The loss leaves the Trojans still looking for their first win of the season.

Dr. Joaquin Garcia found their leader in freshman Maliyah Newton, who threw for 160 yards and four touchdowns, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. The dominant performance also gave Newton a new career-high in passer rating (133.3). Natalie Molina was in the mix as well, providing Dr. Joaquin Garcia with two touchdowns.

Lake Worth's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Dr. Joaquin Garcia, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Lake Worth will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Atlantic at 6:00 p.m. on April 2nd. Dr. Joaquin Garcia's defense has only allowed two points per game this season, so Leonard's offense will have their work cut out for them.
