            Baseball Recap: Columbus Christian Crusaders vs. Southwestern Spartans        
        
		
        
        
            Columbus Christian had lost five straight on the road, but  on Thursday they dropped their record down to 1-8 to make it six. They came up short against  the Southwestern Spartans, falling  18-0. Having soared to a lofty 11  runs in the game before, the Crusaders' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
As for Southwestern, they moved to 7-8 with that  win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. The  contest marked their most dominant  victory of the  season.
For Southwestern's part,  Landon Drake made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he  pitched 2.2 innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. What's more,  Drake posted three  strikeouts, the most he's  had since back in April of 2024. He was even better at the plate,  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances with three  runs and three  RBI.
