Football Recap: Whitney Young Skates Past Amundsen with Ease

Whitney Young won the last time they faced Amundsen and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Dolphins breezed past the Vikings to the tune of 51-6. The Dolphins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by 20 points or more this season.

Georgia Lang produced another solid effort throwing for 388 yards and five touchdowns while completing 96.2% of her passes, and also punching in one score on the ground. Those 388 passing yards gave her a new career-high. Denisse Mayhay helped Lang out on the ground, rushing for 79 yards and a pair of TDs on only six carries, while also picking up 32 receiving yards.

Whitney Young didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kennedy Glover and Nina Lloyd.

The win (which was Whitney Young's fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-2. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 3.0 points on average over those games. As for Amundsen, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Whitney Young will square off against Perspectives Leadership/Technology at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Dolphins 7.6, the Warriors 2.6) so any points scored will be well earned. Amundsen does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
