Basketball Game Preview: Shields Panthers vs. Choctaw County Tigers

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Shields Panthers challenge the Choctaw County Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday... Shields is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

Last Wednesday, Shields strolled past Choctaw County with points to spare, taking the game 54-35. The Panthers pushed the score to 46-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tigers cut but never quite recovered from.

Shields will need focus on slowing down Jarrod Chaney, one of several Choctaw County players who made an impact when they last played. He went 5 for 9 on his way to 10 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Chaney has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaydon Thomas, who posted eight points.

Choctaw County has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. As for Shields, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
