Volleyball Recap: Appleton East Comes Up Short

Appleton East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pulaski Red Raiders. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2022.

Adina DePagter paced Appleton East's offense, picking up seven kills. DePagter got some help from Addison Kiekhaefer and her ten assists. Josie Heisler controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Appleton East's defeat dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Pulaski, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-13.

Looking ahead, Appleton East will face off against Fond du Lac at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pulaski, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Eau Claire Memorial on the 27th.
