Pine Grove came tearing into Monday's contest with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Palmerton Blue Bombers a 1-0 shutout. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Pine Grove's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania soccer rankings (they are ranked 169th, while Palmerton are ranked 428th).

Pine Grove's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Palmerton, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
