Softball Recap: Weiss Comes Up Short

Weiss and Nederland squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Weiss had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 1-0. That's two games in a row now that the Wolves have lost by just one run.

Jordynn Booe spent all nine innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

This is the second loss in a row for Weiss and nudges their season record down to 21-13. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Nederland, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 25-8.

Weiss does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Nederland, they will square off against Lake Creek on Saturday. The Lions will roll in looking for their 32nd straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
