Softball Game Preview: Wharton Wildcats vs. Strawberry Crest Chargers

The Wharton Wildcats will take on the Strawberry Crest Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Wharton is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.5 runs per game this season.

Wharton fell victim to Wiregrass Ranch and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Bulls by a score of 1-0. The Wildcats' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Strawberry Crest came up short against Steinbrenner on Friday and fell 11-7. The Chargers have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Ava Cater was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Shea, who went 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Wharton now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Strawberry Crest, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Wharton beat Strawberry Crest 10-5 when the teams last played on March 11th. Will Wharton repeat their success, or does Strawberry Crest has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
