Elgin won the last time they faced Cory-Rawson, and Maycee Muselin did her part to make sure it happened again. The Elgin Comets sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 48-45 victory over the Cory-Rawson Fighting Hornets on Monday thanks in part to Muselin, who posted 27 points and five assists. The contest was her ninth in a row with at least 20 points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Kadence Gear, who put up four points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in boards.

Elgin's win bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Cory-Rawson, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Elgin has already played their next match, a 53-29 victory against Upper Scioto Valley on the 6th. As for Cory-Rawson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-52 defeat against Fostoria on the 4th.
