Softball Recap: Chapel Hill Takes a Loss

Chapel Hill fell victim to Riverside-Durham and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 14-0 to the Pirates. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost seven in a row.

Chapel Hill saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alexandra (Kes) Duncan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Chapel Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Riverside-Durham, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chapel Hill will head out to square off against Northern Durham at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Riverside-Durham, they will venture away from home to challenge Durham Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cavaliers have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season.
