Softball Recap: Cherryville Takes a Loss

Whiteville hit Cherryville with a four-run fourth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Ironmen took a 12-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolfpack. The Ironmen have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kennedy Weathers was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Ava Miller, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Cherryville's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Whiteville, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-12.

Looking ahead, Cherryville will challenge Burns at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Whiteville, they will take on South Columbus at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
