Baseball Recap: Huss Comes Up Short

Huss was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat. They fell 13-10 to the Ashbrook Greenwave. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Greenwave this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-12 on Tuesday.

Zachary Kimmel was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up five earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Javarion Brown made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Lamarion Adams, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Huss' loss dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Ashbrook, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-13.

Huss didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 28-1 defeat against North Gaston on the 21st. As for Ashbrook, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 9-1 loss against Highland Tech on the 21st.
