Softball Recap: Perris Comes Up Short

Perris fell victim to Moreno Valley and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 16-0 to the Vikings. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost three in a row.

Perris saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carina Castaneda, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.

Perris' record is now 4-8. As for Moreno Valley, they pushed their record up to 8-8 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Perris will venture away from home to take on Citrus Hill at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 8.7 runs per game this season. As for Moreno Valley, they will face off against Rancho Verde at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Mustangs will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Vikings surely won't give up without a fight.
