Baseball Recap: Mitchell Takes a Loss

Mitchell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 13-3 to the Eastern Greene Thunderbirds. The Bluejackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Thunderbirds apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Mitchell saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dason Kerr, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. Kerr also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Drake Fields was another, scoring a run and stealing two bases.

Mitchell's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Eastern Greene, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Mitchell will square off against Paoli at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Eastern Greene, they will take on North Knox at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.4 runs per game on average), something the Thunderbirds will no doubt try to take advantage of.
