Basketball Game Preview: Logan Wildcats vs. Tug Valley Panthers

A feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats take on the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Logan is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of West Virginia's top teams: Williamstown, who was ranked 13th at the time (Logan was ranked 20th). Logan was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 70-69 to Williamstown. The Wildcats have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Meanwhile, Tug Valley waltzed into their game on Friday with 12 straight wins... but they left with 13. They breezed past the Miners to the tune of 99-67. The Panthers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Tug Valley's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.7 points over those games. As for Logan, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-5.

Logan came up short against Tug Valley in their previous matchup back in January, falling 72-65. Can Logan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
