Football Game Preview: Mountain View Yellowjackets vs. Salem Greyhounds

The Mountain View Yellowjackets will square off against the Salem Greyhounds at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Mountain View is returning home triumphant after the team finally put their road woes behind them against Episcopal on Friday. The Yellowjackets enjoyed a cozy 47-30 win over the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, Salem put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 66-8 victory over Yellville-Summit. The result was nothing new for the Greyhounds, who have now won six games by 20 points or more so far this season.

Salem had a senior duo take command as Kaden Brink rushed for 117 yards and one touchdown on only ten carries and Jackson Taylor rushed for 20 yards and a pair of TDs. Another player making a difference was Ferris Thweatt, who gained 83 total yards and a touchdown.

Salem was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 454 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

One reason for the win was Salem's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for six sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Keagan Sanderson.

Mountain View picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 3-4. As for Salem, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.
