Basketball Recap: St. John XXIII Takes a Loss

St. John XXIII was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 41-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Crosby Cougars.

Leading Crosby to victory were Chloe Jones and Lamaya Clark. Jones dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Clark posted 11 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. What's more, Clark also racked up four assists, the most she's had since back in January. Another player making a difference was Airyanna Robertson, who had eight points and three steals.

St. John XXIII's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Crosby, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 8-9 record this season.

St. John XXIII will take on Brazos Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Crosby, they will square off against Porter at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
