League recap: Hill throws longest pass in league this season for Brenham

4A Region III District 18 recap September 10, 2013

Caleb Hill and Tyler Watts provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Pope John XXIII. The connection went for 78 yards, the longest such play in 4A Region III District 18 this season.

Brenham's Earnest Patterson recorded the longest rushing play in the league this season in his game against the Lions last week. Patterson's team topped Pope John XXIII as he sprinted for 68 yards on the play and finished with 140 in all.

Cle Tolivar put up the best numbers in passing as Willis lost to Crosby. He finished with a total of 14 completions for 154 yards and 2 touchdowns. Tolivar's favorite target this week was Luke Dean, who caught 4 passes for 64 yards.

Watts was the best receiver in the league this week as Brenham defeated Scot Mills' team. Watts racked up 2 receptions for 88 yards. Courtland Sutton helped Brenham's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 37 yards.

Patterson was the best running back in 4A Region III District 18 this week. Jordan Graves also contributed to the rushing game with 38 yards on the ground.

An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Magnolia West takes on Glen West's team. At the moment, Magnolia West is in second, while the Cubs are in fourth.

Rudder scaled the state rankings by moving to 877 from 909 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Rangers were able to make move up by losing to El Campo 41-0.
