Basketball Game Preview: Vista PEAK Prep Bison vs. Legacy Lightning

Vista PEAK Prep got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jade Hibbler out in front who posted ten points in addition to five assists and five steals. Hibbler has become a key player for Vista PEAK Prep: the team is 3-1 when she posts at least five steals, but 6-12 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Knakai Starks, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Vista PEAK Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Legacy posted their closest victory since January 24th on Saturday. They skirted past Boulder 55-52. The Lightning haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Vista PEAK Prep better keep an eye on Olivia Mortensen. She was instrumental in Legacy's win, dropping a double-double with 40 points and 11 boards. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Mortensen has scored at least a third of Legacy's points. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Martin, who put up four points along with six steals and five rebounds.

Vista PEAK Prep's record is now 9-13. As for Legacy, their record is now 13-10.

Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Vista PEAK Prep has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 25.5 boards per game. However, it's not like Legacy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.7 rebounds.
