Volleyball Recap: Rockwall Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Rockwall kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of the Lake Highlands Wildcats by a score of 3-2. The Yellowjackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2019.

Rockwall actually scored more points across those five sets (109-98), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 10-25, 25-23, 23-25, 15-13.

When it comes to explaining why Rockwall lost, don't look at Ashtyn Werth. Despite the final result, she had 11 digs and two aces.

Kendall Strosnider was the offensive standout of the match as she had 18 digs and one assist. Those 18 digs gave her a new career-high.

Coming up, Rockwall will welcome Ursuline Academy at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Lake Highlands, they will square off against Wakeland at 11:30 a.m. on Friday.
