Volleyball Recap: Fresno Christian Comes Up Short

Fresno Christian suffered their biggest defeat since March 27th on Thursday. They came up short against the Reedley Pirates, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in March.

While Fresno Christian had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-19, 25-18.

Among those leading the charge was Angel Zamarripa, who had 11 digs and three aces. Those three aces gave him a new career-high. Adrian Vargas also deserves some recognition as he had his first block of the season.

Fresno Christian moved to 8-22 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Reedley, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-12.

Fresno Christian and Reedley will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Eagles see the court they'll take on Parlier at 5:30 p.m. on the 22nd. As for Reedley, their break will end when they face Washington Union at 6:30 p.m. on the 24th.
