Baseball Recap: Casady Sets Scoring Season-High Against Anadarko

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Casady). They never let the Anadarko Warriors get on the board and left with a 19-0 victory on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Cyclones, who have now won seven matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Henry Lewis was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for Casady: the team is 6-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-4 otherwise.

In other batting news, Casady let Jozef Pikula and Kyler Tice run wild. Pikula scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3, while Tice scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-3. Tice is becoming a predictor of Casady's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 4-5 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Luke Woodruff, who scored a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Casady was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .607. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Casady has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Anadarko, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-16.

Casady will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
