Preview: Manual Thunderbolts vs. Adams City Eagles
The Manual Thunderbolts will be playing in front of their home fans against the Adams City Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Thursday, Manual's game was all tied up 24-24 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 58-48 win over Jefferson Academy. The victory was just what Manual needed coming off of a 81-51 defeat in their prior contest.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Manual to victory, but perhaps none more so than Deshawn Fox, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Fox has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last five times he's played. Marquell Marquez was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Adams City can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They really took it to Alameda for the full four quarters, racking up a 97-27 victory on the road. Winning may never get old, but Adams City sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Jalen Mckinnies was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 3 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Javid Taylor, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds.
Manual's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Adams City, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-9 record this season.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Manual have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 29.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Adams City struggles in that department as they've been averaging 31.6 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
