It's playoff time, and Ray had no trouble coming through when it counted. They had just enough and edged out the Rio Grande City Rattlers 5-3. This was payback for the Texans, who suffered a 3-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

JARRON SANDOVAL was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was AIDAN ORTIZ, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Ray is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Rio Grande City, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 14-11.

Ray will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Rattlers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
