Basketball Recap: Swain County Find Success

Swain County lost to Hayesville back in December of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Swain County Maroon Devils came out on top against the Hayesville Yellowjackets by a score of 35-27.

Several Yellowjackets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mallory Peck, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine Brooks, who posted ten points.

Swain County's victory bumped their record up to 4-10. As for Hayesville, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-8.

Swain County has already played their next matchup (against Murphy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Hayesville and Blue Ridge Early College will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Hayesville is facing Blue Ridge Early College at the right time seeing as Blue Ridge Early College is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
