Mary Cate Spang was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Karisa Miller, who got on base in both of her plate appearances with two runs.
Northmor hit Mt. Gilead with a nine-run fourth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Indians came up short against the Golden Knights, falling 12-5.
Trinity Schrote made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double. That double was her first of the season. Hayleigh Brown was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Northridge's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Mt. Gilead, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
Mt. Gilead's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Northridge has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .468. It's a different story for Mt. Gilead, though, as they've only averaged .342. Will they be able to contain Northridge's hitters?
