Volleyball Recap: Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Abingdon/Avon Tornadoes. The Spartans were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tornadoes from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-17, 25-16.

Ellie Doubet paced Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge]'s offense, picking up eight kills. Doubet got some help from Haylee Bennett and her 16 assists. Doubet was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge]'s loss dropped their record down to 2-27. As for Abingdon/Avon, their win bumped their record up to 4-27.

Looking ahead, Ridgewood [AlWood/Cambridge] will challenge Annawan at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Abingdon/Avon has already played their next contest (against Peoria Heights), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
