Basketball Recap: Walnut Hills Takes a Loss

Walnut Hills was the 64-56 winner over Mt. Healthy when they last played one another back in January of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The Walnut Hills Eagles took a hard 71-54 fall against the Mt. Healthy Fighting Owls on Saturday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Eagles came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while the Fighting Owls are ranked 475th).

This is the second loss in a row for Walnut Hills and nudges their season record down to 3-3. As for Mt. Healthy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.

Walnut Hills will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lebanon at 7:15 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Mt. Healthy and Anderson will round out the year against one another at at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Mt. Healthy is facing Anderson at the right time seeing as Anderson is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
