Football Recap: Cordova Takes a Loss

Cordova had lost eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-7 to make it nine. They were dealt a 58-0 defeat at the hands of the Collierville Dragons. Having soared to a lofty 34 points in the game before, the Wolves' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

As for Collierville, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.0 points over those games.

Autry, Lawrence was his usual excellent self, rushing for 40 yards and a pair of TDs, while also catching one score. He also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Collierville is 5-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.

Cordova didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 35-0 loss against Franklin on the 31st. As for Collierville, they have also already played their next game, a 49-27 win against Houston on the 30th.
