Northeastern Clinton strolled past the Knights with points to spare, taking the game 59-40. Given Northeastern Clinton's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 405th, while the Knights are ranked 822nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Seton Catholic Central's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Aiden Pearl, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 19 rebounds, and Oliver Hughes who scored 16 points along with two steals. That was a full 42.5% of Seton Catholic Central's points, marking the 12th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
The win got Northeastern Clinton back to even at 7-7. As for Seton Catholic Central, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
Northeastern Clinton will head out on the road to square off against the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Northern Adirondack's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while the Cougars have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. Seton Catholic Central will take on the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
