Volleyball Recap: Anselmo-Merna Comes Up Short

Anselmo-Merna extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 8-10. They lost 3-0 to the Burwell Longhorns. The Coyotes were not able to make up for their loss to the Longhorns from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Shayleigh Coleman paced Anselmo-Merna's offense, picking up five kills. Coleman got some help from Lily Thornton and her 16 assists. Jenna Bartak and Rylee Myers kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

As for Burwell, their win bumped their record up to 11-7. They not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 11th (when they won 3-0).

Karsyn Bower was the offensive standout of the match as she had 14 digs. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last ten games she's played.

Anselmo-Merna wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Elba on the 9th. As for Burwell, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Twin Loup on the 9th.
