Basketball Recap: Ste. Genevieve Wins Going Away Against Central

It's playoff time, and Ste. Genevieve had no trouble coming through when it counted. They strolled past the Central Rebels with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 60-44. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Devin Flye continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 44% from the field on his way to 28 points and six rebounds. He is becoming a predictor of Ste. Genevieve's success: when he posts at least 25 points the team is 3-1 (and 10-12 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Jeffrey Hunter, who went 6-for-10 en route to 14 points and seven boards.

Ste. Genevieve is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-13 record this season. Central's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-6.

Ste. Genevieve has already played their next matchup, a 58-50 defeat against Potosi on the 7th. Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
