Baseball Recap: Traip Takes a Loss

Traip was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 12-3 to the Waynflete Flyers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Flyers this season, with their most recent loss being a 15-2 defeat last Thursday.

Jack Downs made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Phin Fifield also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Traip's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Waynflete, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Traip will square off against rival Mountain Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Waynflete is set to take on their familiar foe Sacopee Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
