Basketball Game Preview: Cary Academy Chargers vs. Greensboro Day School Bengals

Cary Academy hasn't had much luck against Greensboro Day School recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Chargers are taking a road trip to take on the Bengals at 6:00 p.m. Cary Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Greensboro Day School likes a good challenge.

On Saturday, Cary Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Asheville Christian Academy and fell 64-62.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from McCoy Williams, who posted 25 points and six assists. His afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Julian Tweedy was another key player, shooting 40% from the field to rack up 17 points and eight assists.

Meanwhile, Greensboro Day School won against Grace Christian on Thursday with 68 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The Bengals blew past North Raleigh Christian Academy, posting a 68-39 win. The victory was nothing new for the Bengals as they're now sitting on four straight.

Cary Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Greensboro Day School, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Cary Academy couldn't quite get it done against Greensboro Day School in their previous meeting back in November of 2021 as they fell 72-61. Can the Chargers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
