Preview: Southold Settlers vs. Ross
Southold is 10-0 against Ross since January of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Southold Settlers will head out on the road to face off against Ross at 5:45 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Southold put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They blew past Shelter Island 84-41 at home. Southold's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Meanwhile, Ross didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Shelter Island on Saturday, but they still walked away with a 35-30 victory. The victory was just what Ross needed coming off of a 64-38 defeat in their prior matchup.
Southold is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season. As for Ross, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
Everything came up roses for Southold against Ross in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the squad secured a 59-32 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Southold since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
