Jay was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They put the hurt on the Blacksher Bulldogs with a sharp 14-3 victory. The Royals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.
Jay got a massive performance out of Presley Hawthorne, who went 2-for-4 with six RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those six RBI gave Hawthorne a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Layna Lowry, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Jay kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Blacksher only managed six hits.
The win (which was Jay's fifth in a row) raised their record to 19-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Blacksher, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-12.
Coming up, Jay will face off against Walton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Blacksher, they will venture away from home to challenge T.R. Miller at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
