Softball Recap: Johnsburg Skyhawks vs. Plano Reapers
Johnsburg had lost five games straight , but after bumping their record up to 8-14 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 21-7 margin over the Plano Reapers. The Skyhawks not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 5th (when they won 21-1).

Carlie Majercik was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kimmy Whitlock, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
Johnsburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .579. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in five consecutive games.
As for Plano, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16-1 record this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.
On Plano's side, Taylor Downs was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Cami Nunez was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Johnsburg will head out to square off against Lakes at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Plano, they will venture away from home to challenge Newark at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
