Volleyball Recap: Putnam Takes a Loss

Putnam lost against Rockville back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Clippers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams. The Clippers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Putnam started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-20, 25-7, 25-17.

Esteban Suarez paced Putnam's offense, picking up six kills. Suarez got some help from Sawyer Britt and his seven assists. Finally, Suarez was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high nine blocks.

Rockville can attribute much of their success to Wesley Foo, who had seven digs and four aces.

Putnam's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Rockville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Putnam does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rockville, they will challenge Simsbury at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
