Football Game Preview: Community Braves vs. Lake Dallas Falcons

Community is preparing for their first district matchup of the season on Friday. They are taking a road trip to challenge the Lake Dallas Falcons at 7:30 p.m. Community will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.

Community is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their game last Friday with ease, bagging a 45-7 victory over Western Hills.

Community got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Grayson Calloway out in front who threw for 441 yards and five touchdowns while completing 83.9% of his passes. Cash Elston was in the mix as well, providing the Braves with two TDs.

Community didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Carson Bessa. Abbott Grayson was another major factor on D, making 12 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Lake Dallas unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak dating back to last season on Friday. They took a 20-16 hit to the loss column at the hands of Paris.

Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed ten in total. All came from Cooper Denehie: he went 3-for-3 kicking field goals for nine points and added another on an extra point kick.

Lake Dallas' loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Community, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Community took a serious blow against Lake Dallas when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 56-20. Can the Braves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
