After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, Soddy Daisy finally came back down to earth on Monday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Walker Valley Mustangs. The Trojans' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Soddy Daisy saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Skylar Gooden, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base. Gooden has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last four times she's played. Abby Faires also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Soddy Daisy's loss dropped their record down to 15-11-1. As for Walker Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-7 record this season.

Soddy Daisy will take on Cleveland at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. As for Walker Valley, they will challenge McMinn County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Mustangs' favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while the Cherokees have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
