Basketball Game Preview: Paul W. Bryant Stampede vs. Northridge Jaguars

The Paul W. Bryant Stampede are taking a road trip to take on the Northridge Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Paul W. Bryant will be looking to extend their current ten-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Paul W. Bryant rang in the new year with a 58-47 win over Sipsey Valley. Given the Stampede's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Bears are ranked 166th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northridge). They breezed by Hale County to the tune of 86-47 on Tuesday. The Jaguars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Paul W. Bryant's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points per game. As for Northridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Paul W. Bryant was able to grind out a solid win over Northridge in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 70-59. The rematch might be a little tougher for Paul W. Bryant since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
