Basketball Game Preview: Laupahoehoe Seasiders vs. St. Joseph Cardinals

The Laupahoehoe Seasiders and the St. Joseph Cardinals will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Laupahoehoe will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

Last Thursday, Laupahoehoe took a blow against Pahoa, falling 89-15. The contest marked the Seasiders' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph had to endure a 14-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victor by a 56-33 margin over Christian Liberty Academy last Tuesday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Cardinals' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Laupahoehoe's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for St. Joseph, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Things could have been worse for Laupahoehoe, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 72-56 loss to St. Joseph in their previous meeting back in February of 2018.
